David Riccio in Daytona Beach, Florida, writes:
I’m an Italian man, and I divorced a Spanish woman from Colombia. Since then, I’ve heard great things about Ukrainian women for wives. I’ve found a Ukrainian woman, and I’m wondering what you think about marrying her and bringing her to the United States.
Marilyn responds:
I think you’ll just get divorced again. Ukrainian women may make great wives, but you wouldn’t be marrying them all. Instead, you’d be marrying only this one particular woman, who will not behave like the stereotype. No one will. The same goes for all other cultures. If you get together with this woman, and everything is great for a year while you get to know each other before getting married, that’s different. But you shouldn’t marry someone just because you like the cultural stereotype. You won’t get it.
