There’s definitely a baby on board for Janet Jackson! The 50-year-old singer acknowledged her pregnancy and showed off her growing baby bump in a People exclusive.
“We thank God for our blessing,” she told People.
The news comes more than six months after the singer took to social media to announce that she would be delaying the second leg of her Unbreakable World Tour, citing a “sudden change.” In late March, she went on to say (through a radiant smile) that she and her husband were planning a family, and that she was under doctor’s orders to rest. The blogosphere was abuzz: Could this mean the 49-year-old was pregnant?
And in May, just two weeks before her 50th birthday, sources confirmed that the singer is in fact expecting her first child with husband Wissam Al Mana.
Launched on August 31, 2015, the Unbreakable World Tour saw the return of the Rhythm Nation singer after a four-year hiatus. Complete with killer dance numbers, costume changes and a perfect mix of songs old and new, the tour has been enormously successful around the world. (Jackson previously put the tour on hold due to health issues, but was able to resume performing a month later.)
In her video she thanked her fans, dancers and crew for their dedication to the show. She signed off with a promise to return to the stage when she’s able, adding, “I will see you soon.”
We’ll “Miss You Much,” Janet!
