No wonder you didn’t find a response. I never answered that question! But here’s a similar one, which is probably the one you have in mind. A reader asked, “Is it better to be lucky or to be skillful?”
I responded, “I think it’s better to be skillful. I would much rather be operated on by a surgeon who is skillful than one who is lucky.” And I’d rather be that surgeon or engineer or truck driver, wouldn’t you?
