As Rumer Willis takes her final bow on the Dancing With the Stars tour, she posted a sweet farewell to her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy. Season 10‘s winning duo have kept fans wondering about a possible love connection since they made their first appearance together. We look back at some of their sweetest moments as we continue to ship #Valenrue.

1. They Support Each Other

In a video package that ran on the final episode of season 10, Rumer tearfully told Val, “I was so scared my whole life to try anything or to fail, and you didn’t really ever let me. I’ve never really had anybody who’s believed in me like that.”

Val returned the compliment by saying, “I love and care for her abilities too much to ever let her slide on anything.”

Swoon.

2. They Miss Each Other

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the duo shared what they would miss most about DWTS. “Performing together,” Val said, with Rumer agreeing. Val went on to say, “That’s the biggest thing. There’s so much stress that goes into actually creating the numbers and the rehearsals and the time crunch and preparing that you never really have a chance to appreciate what you’ve done. So I’m going to take a moment to realize what we just did and reflect on that. And then we’re probably going to start missing each other.”

3. They Celebrate Each Other’s Wins

Though they took home the mirrorball as a team, Val and Rumer have been outspoken in their support of each other’s individual achievements. When it was announced Rumer would take on the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago in her Broadway debut, Val took to Instagram to share a photo of Rue in costume and sing her praises.

“I am so so… SO proud of this girl right here. Seeing you star in this amazing show on the biggest stage in the world brings me a world of joy girl. You did it! And you deserve it and I can’t wait to see you shine yet again. This season of DWTS, being your teacher/partner, has undoubtedly been one of my biggest and proudest moments. We spoke about this role and this show when we first met, and here you are. Just the beginning for you, shine bright beautiful girl, you earned it!!!”

4. They Laugh Together

If their Instagram feeds are any indication, the two have a winning time off the dance floor, too. From adorable videos to chummy outings, the two love posting their adventures, including this Dubsmash clip of the two singing like the Minions (while spooning!).

5. They Say Goodbye in the Sweetest Way.

Val posted his own sweet farewell to his partner, saying, “to this gem right here. It isn’t the end, just the beginning. Next season will begin however, and I will embark on yet another journey…with a new partner…but you my friend have been an absolute pleasure. Seeing you grow and become a proud young woman with your head held high and your star shining brighter than ever has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. We’ll dance again, I promise…but know regardless of what we do from here on and where we go, you’ll always have me cheering and rooting you on…and kicking your butt of course…from the side. I’m so proud of you…thank  you for letting me part of your story.” Before closing out with, “Love you champ.”

In Rumer’s post, she once again thanks Val for his support and for always believing in her. “As my journey as your partner comes to an end and your next season with a whole new partner and new experience begins, there are a few things I thought about today. I honestly don’t know if I have words to describe what this past season or this tour, but most importantly our partnership has meant to me. I know I have tried on many occasion while on tour to describe to the audience what I felt but I have always fallen short to put in words how I feel. So I’ll do my best…first I have to thank you as my teacher for challenging me everyday through your own passion and dedication to your art, for pushing me past the limits of what I believed I was capable of and even for occasionally driving me crazy with trying to make all of our dances the best they could be. Secondly I thank you for believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself for putting up with me when I was scared or insecure, and being the person that didn’t let me feel like I could fail no matter what anyone else said. I am truly grateful to call you my friend and I am so proud that we won together, I wouldn’t have wanted to do it with anyone else. I can’t wait to root for you next season,” she said, signing off with, “love to you always.”
