What does Tim Gunn, from Project Runway, do when he’s not on TV?
—Valerie M., Phoenix, Ariz.
A: In addition to co-hosting and mentoring contestants on Project Runway (returning this summer on Lifetime), Gunn works with students at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology and the Parsons School of Design. In his new book The Natty Professor (Gallery), the Emmy-winning style guru, 61, notes that teachers need to encourage experimentation and “support our students in whatever it is that they want to do, even if it’s not what we would do ourselves.”
