How can you not love Luc Besson? The French director has been making movies since 1981, but he continues to make thrilling, fun, and sometimes very cerebral films not only in his native country, but also here in the United States. From the absolute classic Léon: The Professional and 1997’s The Fifth Element to his awesome French adaptation The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec, Besson has not slowed down one bit in the past few decades.
All of which is only proven once again with his latest film Lucy. Starring Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman, this mind-trip of an action film is exciting, fast-paced, and a heck of a lot of fun.
Parade is excited to premiere this exclusive clip from the Lucy Blu-ray (which arrives in stores today). The clip features writer/director Luc Besson discussing how it took him quite a long time to figure out the balance between the more real aspects of Lucy’s store and the more fantastic elements. All this while we’re treated to some great behind-the-scenes footage from the movie. We’re also joined by Dr. P. Murali Doraiswamy, a Professor at the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences, who discusses the more realistic brain-centric parts of the film, and talks about what the true capacity of the human brain might be. Finally, we get to hear from star Morgan Freeman as he speculates as to what our brains may be capable of. It’s a really fun, informative clip that Lucy fans will dig.
Lucy is available on Blu-ray, DVD & Digital HD now.
