It was movie’s biggest night — and the end of awards season — with the handing out of Oscars at the 89th Academy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 26.
The stellar event, which took place live from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Calif, was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, making his first appearance as MC of the ceremony.
Among the stars presenting were Amy Adams, Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Warren Beatty, Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Faye Dunaway, Chris Evans, Michael J. Fox, Ryan Gosling, Salma Hayek, Taraji P. Henson, Brie Larson, Dev Patel, Seth Rogen, Octavia Spencer, Emma Stone, Meryl Streep and Vince Vaughn.
In addition, Justin Timberlake, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Sting introduced the nominees for Best Original Song.
Singer and songwriter Sara Bareilles delivered a special “In Memoriam” performance of the great talents lost in the past year. Following Bareilles’ “In Memoriam” performance, an extended photo gallery of more than 200 filmmakers, artists and executives were posted in the Oscar.com photos section.
The 89th Academy Awards aired lived on ABC.
