Season 3 The Voice winner Cassadee Pope is the first winner of the NBC singing competition to get a Grammy nomination.
Pope is nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards, for “Think of You,” her duet with Chris Young.
“I had an acoustic show with Chris Young in Florida,” Pope says on this video. “He heard me sing and he liked what he heard, so I got the demo for ‘Think of You’ in email one day. Of course, I said ‘yes’ because I love Chris Young, but I also love the song, so I recorded it with him. We had great chemistry in the studio. Next thing I knew, I had a No. 1. It’s changed my life.”
In town for Sunday night’s The 59th Annual Grammy Awards, Pope stopped by The Voice for a walk down memory lane and to catch up with Blake Shelton, her coach the season she won.
