Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the shindig was held at the Beverly Hilton and broadcast on NBC. Celebrities tweeted throughout the night, especially during Meryl Streep‘s powerful speech when she accepted the Cecil B. DeMille award. “As my friend the dear, departed Princess Leia said,” proclaimed Streep, “take your broken heart, make it into art.”
