Jodie Sweetin, 34, grew up in the public eye, playing Stephanie Tanner on ABC’s Full House for eight seasons. Now starring on Netflix’s Fuller House, premiering its second season December 9, the mother of two is enjoying the best time of her life.

People like the idea that the Full House cast is friends off-screen.

We’ve remained incredibly close since the show went off the air 20 years ago. We were truly a family. We would go on vacations together, celebrate births and weddings, and came together when family members died. I think that’s part of the show’s charm.

What’s happening in Season 2 of Fuller House?

Stephanie is pursuing her music career, so she’s getting to do a lot of fun stuff with that. She gets a love interest. I think the fans are really going to love who it winds up being. There are some really crazy storylines.

Stephanie is going to be working on her music career.  What about you?

I recorded a song with Juan Pablo Di Pace who plays Fernando on Fuller House. He and I worked on a song together that we’re really excited about. I get to explore another area of my creativity that I haven’t done for a really long time.

You also have a new jewelry line (Jodie Sweetin for Erica Anenberg). What prompted that?

This is something that I’d always wanted to do. I designed the line with my friend, Erica Anenberg. I wear the pieces almost every day, and it’s a reminder of things that are important in my life: Happiness, joy, gratitude.

What does it mean to know that there is still an audience for Fuller House?

People have grown up with this family. It’s crazy to think that there’s such a huge fan base. They’re really excited to see where these characters are all these years later.

What are the holidays like at your house?

I get very into decorating my house. For me, the holidays are about spending time with the people I love, having dinners, having everyone over, things like that.
