Longmire fans won’t have to wait much longer. The newest season of the show, which follows a Wyoming sheriff as he rebuilds his life and career after the death of his wife, premieres September 23 on Netflix.
There’s not much information about what we’ll see in Season 5 as Netflix has been pretty hush-hush about Sheriff Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) and his posse. From the trailer it looks like Longmire’s daughter, Cady (Cassidy Freeman), goes to work for the nefarious Jacob Nighthorse (A Martinez).
Tom Wopat (Dukes of Hazzard) guest stars on the show, but where is Dr. Donna Monaghan (Ally Walker), the sheriff’s love interest from last season? Has she left town for good? Is this the season where Vic Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) and the sheriff finally take their relationship one step further?
Will Omar (Louis Herthum) turn up again with his dry wit and oddly vast knowledge of guns and warfare?
If TV’s not your thing or perhaps you don’t subscribe to Netflix or you’re just hankering for a good read, Craig Johnson, the creator of the sheriff and all that goes on in Absaroka County, has just published An Obvious Fact, a new Longmire mystery. In it, Longmire and Henry Standing Bear find themselves in the middle of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally as they investigate an accident after a young biker is run off the road.
