The Chicago franchise on NBC is a major success for the network and for its esteemed creator, Dick Wolf. Chicago P.D. returns this fall for season four on September 21. Meet Jesse Lee Soffer, (Detective Jay Halstead) in this video as he clues us in on the upcoming season.
He also spills about something very interesting that “will be fun for the fans.” (Hint: You have to watch here to find out!)
Jesse is part of a solid cast headed by Jason Beghe as Sgt. Hank Voight of the Chicago Police Department and its elite intelligence unit. Jesse’s character is described as “a brash young cop who previously saw active military duty in Afghanistan.” Not surprisingly, the story follows members of the crime-fighting force as they (try to) balance personal and professional lives.
Jesse, 32, stopped by to tell us what’s up with his character and others who call the set their home away from home. As a dedicated marksman on the show, he also does target practice when he’s not shooting scenes, he says. If you wonder how he stays in shape, here he tells us about working out—and about training with his castmate LaRoyce Hawkins.
Other cast members include Sophia Bush, Patrick John Flueger, Elias Koteas, Jon Seda, Marina Squerciati, Amy Morton and Brian Geraghty.
Jesse had a recurring role on Two of a Kind and Guiding Light and was a regular on As the World Turns and The Mob Doctor. He’s loving the current challenges and success of Chicago PD, as is obvious here.
Be sure to watch the season premiere on NBC Wednesday, September 21 at 10 p.m. ET.
