Comedian Jerry Lewis, the face of the Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon and the fight to find a cure for the debilitating disease, has been feature on our cover more than a dozen times since 1984.
Lewis champion research during the annual MDA telethon held each year on Labor Day weekend for nearly 50 years. The MDA discontinued the telethon in 2015.
