The Big Bang Theory cast is back to work on all-new episodes for its 10th season — but took a break to post selfies as proof.
Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny, posted an image on Instagram with all her co-stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Mayim Bialik, Melissa Rauch, and Kunal Nayyar making faces. She wrote: “#season10 woot woot! @thebigbangtheory__ we back babyyyyy #selfiestick #backstagepass.”
Bialik posted a similar but slightly different photo, writing: “Oh @normancook you take the best pix of us!!! The Season 10 first taping is happening right now with this fantastic squad: kaley, @therealjimparsons @sanctionedjohnnygalecki @kunalkarmanayyar @themelissarauch and #Simonhelberg”
The scoop for season 10, which is picking up right where Season 9 left off, is we are finally going to meet more of Penny’s family. Sons of Anarchy‘s Katey Sagal will play her mother, Susan, and Penny’s brother Randall will be played by Jack McBrayer (30 Rock).
“Katey has played Kaley’s mom before on 8 Simple Rules, and she told us she’s always up for playing Kaley’s mom,” showrunner Steve Molaro announced at this year’s Comic-Con, where McBrayer was a surprise guest.
Whether or not Season 10 will be the end of the series remains to be seen. At the Television Critics Association CBS press tour earlier this month, CBS President Glenn Geller said, “We are very confident that everyone wants Big Bang past year 10 and I know Warner Bros. will make those deals.”
But series Molaro wasn’t as confident, having earlier told the Hollywood Reporter, “The reality is that maybe season 10 is the ending point.”
Season 10 of The Big Bang Theory premieres Monday, Sept. 19, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
