Alec Baldwin, 58, returns to TV June 26 for fun and games as host of ABC’s new Match Game. The 30 Rock star, who will also be appearing in the movie Rules Don’t Apply, in theaters in November, will donate his paycheck from Match Game to arts-related charities. 1. Baldwin is a direct descendant, through his father, of Mayflower passenger John Howland.
2. His first acting job was on the soap The Doctors in 1980 as Billy Allison Aldrich.
3. He’s a huge fan of the Chicago Bears.
4. As part of his preparation for the movie The Hunt for Red October, he was trained to drive an attack submarine.
5. This January, he took a Polar Bear Plunge in the Atlantic Ocean to benefit an East Hampton rehabilitation facility.
