For the first time in The Voice history, two women will serve as coaches at the same time when Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys join Blake Shelton and Adam Levine for Season 11.
“The musical expertise and energy these two incredibly talented women will bring to the show is remarkable,” Paul Telegdy, NBC Entertainment’s president of alternative and late night programming, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled that they’ll be joining Adam and Blake in what we know will be a magical 11th season.”
Cyrus, of course, is joining Season 10 of The Voice as the Key Advisor when the show heads into the Knockout Rounds on Monday night. And Keys served as an advisor on Season 7.
The “Wrecking Ball” singer tweeted out the news earlier today: “It’s true! I am going to be the newest judge on Season 11 of The Voice @NBCTheVoice #thevoice,” she wrote.
It was expected that Gwen Stefani would return, but word is that Stefani is busy with a promotional tour for her new album, and could possibly return at another date.
It is unclear if Pharrell Williams will be taking part in Season 11 in some form at this time.
