The Ides of March is today, March 15. It’s a day that’s developed quite a reputation. It started back when Julius Caesar was assassinated on this day in 44 B.C., and then Shakespeare wrote the famous line, “Beware the ides of March.”Those are the words of the soothsayer in the play, Julius Caesar, who warns Caesar of his upcoming assassination. Sadly for Caesar, he doesn’t pay attention to the warning.

On a lighter note, The Ides of March is also the title of a George Clooney movie from 2011. The political thriller, based on a play by Beau Willimon called Farragut North, also stars Ryan Gosling, Paul Giamatti, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood
