Your column about popcorn reminded me of a personal experience. (January 10, 2016) Our young daughter advised us that she needed seeds to plant in a container for school the next day. With no notice, her mother thought of popcorn and gave her a few kernels to plant. Surprisingly to us, they grew, and when they outgrew the container, we planted the small plants in the ground outdoors. One of them survived. became tall, and actually yielded ears of corn. We picked them, dried the kernels, and popped the corn. It was a great lesson, showing how one or two kernels of corn eventually yielded a small bowl of popcorn.

What a nice story! Thank you so much for sharing it with us, Arnold.
