Tensions are rising in “The Bachelor” mansion and Lauren B. and Amanda trash talk Olivia, who they say claims to have spent $40,000 on clothes. Obviously, the fact that Olivia seems to have an inside track with Ben Higgins, at this point, doesn’t sit well with them.

They are interrupted by Chris Harrison who brings the first date card of the night.

SOLO DATE NO. 1: LAUREN B.

The first solo date goes to Lauren B. Ben picks her up in a convertible and they head out to the Camarillo airport, where they get in a bi-plane. Despite being a flight attendant, Lauren B. is nervous because the plane only has one propeller. Once Lauren B. calms down, they make out in the plane.

They land in the middle of an empty field where there just happens to be a hot tub. They strip down to bathing suits and jump in. More kissing and drinking champagne.

That night, over an intimate dinner, Lauren B. tells Ben she likes the simple things. It’s something she got from her dad. She grew up in a strong family environment.

When Ben asks her why she isn’t taken, she says it’s because she is picky. She wants to find a man who measures up to her father.

Ben reveals that his father has heart problems. He had triple-bypass surgery. Ben said watching his parents together reminded him of the depth at which his parents’ love exists. That is what he is looking for in his own relationship.

Ben offers Lauren B. the first rose of the night and she accepts. They then head out to a private concert by Lucy Angel.

CAILA

Meanwhile Caila, who went on a solo date with Ben last week, is having a meltdown. She is happy to be there she says through her tears, but she’s just realizing that the great time she had with Ben is also going to be experienced by the other women in the mansion.

GROUP DATE

The next date card arrives and it is for the group date: Amanda, Haley, Jennifer, Shushanna, Leah, Amber, Lauren H., Olivia, Jamie, Rachel, Lace and Emily are dropped off at the Los Angeles Coliseum for a Fifa day.

Alex Morgan and Kelley O’Hara of the World Cup Champion U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team are there to put the Bachelorettes through their paces. Ben says the purpose of the date is to show how the women interact with others.

The women are divided into two teams: stars and stripes. The winning team will get to spend the evening with Ben. The losing team goes back to the mansion to nurse their sore muscles.

The stripes win: Olivia, Amber, Jami, Haley, Lace and Leah.

Olivia immediately pulls Ben aside. She tells him she is good, but the other women find her intimidating. Ben reassures her. He tells her she can handle it. Olivia tells the camera, she wants it to be her and Ben at the end.

When Olivia leaves Ben, she finds out that the other women were talking about how ugly her toes are. She agrees, saying perfection is lame.

Ben gives the group date rose to Amber. Olivia says she understands he can’t give her everything.

SOLO DATE NO. 2: JUBILEE

Ben is late and Jubilee is not happy. Then a helicopter shows up and she is really nervous because she is afraid of heights. But when they get dropped off at the Cal-a-Vie Health Spa in Vista, California, Jubilee perks up.

Jubilee tries caviar for the first time, and doesn’t like it. She says she is adventurous, but not when it comes to food. Her go-to food is hotdogs.

They enjoy the facilities and Jubilee teases him about being a white boy. Ben laughs, and Jubilee is happy that he spontaneously laughed. She relaxes and feels like maybe Ben gets her. She says she never had this much fun on a first date with anybody before.

Over an intimate dinner, Jubilee tells Ben she has a lot of layers. She says sometimes it makes it hard to make friends.

He asks her why she hasn’t been back to Haiti. She says she has a love-hate relationship with her past. She had a bad past, but it made her who she is today. She likes who she is. She thinks she would go back if she had someone special to face it with. Her whole family died except for her, so she has survivor’s guilt.

Ben tells her he wants to get to know her layers, and gives her a rose.

The next morning, the other girls are shocked that Jubilee is still there.

COCKTAIL PARTY

Ben tells the girls he got some bad news. Two people close to his family were killed in a plane crash. As a result, he is a little down.

Olivia, still bothered about the fact that the other women were talking about her ugly toes, grabs Ben to talk about her toes. He isn’t happy with her. It isn’t what he wants to talk about. He moves on.

The women give Jubilee a hard time. She tries to ignore them and figure out what to do to make Ben feel better. She gives him a massage. The other women aren’t happy. A group tries to confront her and Jubilee goes upstairs. Ben sees that something is going on, and he goes to comfort Jubilee. Amber comes to talk to them and explains why the other girls aren’t happy. Ben defends Jubilee.

Just when Ben thinks the drama is over, Lace takes Ben aside. She tells him, “I think you are amazing. I am mad at myself for how I’ve acted since I’ve been here. This has been rough for me. I have a lot of work to do on myself. I want to be able to offer you more. I feel going home would be easier and continue working on myself and trying to better myself. Like my tattoo says, ‘You can’t love someone else unless you love yourself.'”

Lace decides to go home. Her antics will be missed.
