Founding Eagles band member Glenn Frey died Monday, January 18, after battling intestinal issues for months. He was 67.
Frey co-wrote and sang many of the Eagles’ hits as well as played piano and keyboards. Some of his most popular songs included “Take It Easy,” “Tequila Sunrise,” “Lyin’ Eyes,” “New Kid in Town” and “Heartache Tonight.” He also co-wrote “Hotel California” and “Desperado” with Don Henley. With the band, he earned six Grammys.
According to a statement posted by the band and his family on his Facebook page, Frey succumbed to complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia:
