Do you think there should be objections when some people expand the statement, “Black lives matter,” to, “All lives matter”? As a black person myself, I think, “All lives matter,” is a perfectly reasonable thing to say.

Yes, the statement, “All lives matter,” seems perfectly reasonable when heard out of context. But when the statement is made as a response to, “Black lives matter,” it sounds like a dismissal of the grievance, the point of which is to declare that black lives are currently being treated as though they matter less.
