Is there a Chewy in the house? According to the folks at Banfield Pet Hospital, there’s a good chance of it. In celebration of the highly anticipated December 18 release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the national veterinary chain pulled from its extensive database of more than 2.7 million pet patients to find out how many were named for characters from the legendary films.
Not only did they discover that Banfield patients’ parents are clearly fans of the series (for many reasons), they learned some are extremely clever with their naming conventions. While there are more than 3,500 pets named Chewy and 330 cats named Luke, we’d venture to guess very few dogs share the pun-tastic names Jabba the Mutt or Boba Fetch.
