India’s Daughter

TUESDAY, Nov. 17

The Preacher’s Sin

In this Lifetime movie, the carefully crafted world of a minister-author-radio host (J.R. Bourne) begins to crumble when secrets from his soiled past begin to intrude on his seemingly perfect present (8 p.m., Lifetime).

Chicago Med

The hospital staff is pushed to its limits when an elevated train crash creates an onslaught of emergency-room victims (9 p.m., NBC).

Conan

The late-night comedian and talk-show host gets “out of the studio” for an episode filmed previously on a recent “road trip” to Armenia, on which he was accompanied by his longtime assistant, Sona Movsesian, whose family is from there (11 p.m., TBS).

Saints & Strangers

The first of a two-night event begins this four-hour TV movie about the epic, ocean-crossing story of the Mayflower and America’s first Thanksgiving, starring Vincent Kartheiser, Anna Camp, Ron Livingston, Barry Sloane and Michael Jibson (9 p.m., NatGeo).

NEW ON DVD

Has it really been 40 years since Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”? Yep, and Queen: A Night at the Odeon, Live at Hammersmith ’75 (Eagle Rock), a live concert recorded back when that tune was in the middle of its nine-week stay at the top of the pop charts, includes rock-out performances of it and more than 15 other tunes, plus bonus features.

The true story of Dr. Martin Luther King’s fight for civil rights comes to the screen in Selma (Warner Bros. Home Entertainment), starring David Oyelowo, Oprah Winfrey and Tom Wilkerson. The Blu-ray includes a music video for the Oscar-winning soundtrack song, “Glory,” by John Legend and Common.

In The Art of the Heist (Athena), documentarian filmmakers interview art historians for a 14-part series delving into some of the most daring thefts of the world’s greatest pieces of art.

Who you calling a dummy? Well, all of Jeff Dunham’s co-stars, for starters, in Jeff Dunham: Unhinged in Hollywood (Universal Pictures Home Entertainment), the live stand-up comedy special starring the popular ventriloquist-comedian and his cast of politically incorrect puppets.

More entries in the ramp-up to Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday in December—Sinatra: All of Nothing at All (Eagle Rock) is a double-DVD/Blu-ray doc chronicling the life and career of Ol’ Blue Eyes through archival interviews, home movies and concert footage. Frank Sinatra: A Voice on Air (Sony Music Legacy), a 4-CD box set, has more than 100 tracks culled from rare radio broadcasts and rehearsals, all restored to modern, hi-fidelity standards from original master recordings.

Entertainment Weekly magazine celebrates 25 years of pop culture highs and lows in The Must List (Time Inc. Books), a fun compendium of the past quarter-century’s worth of movies, music, television and stars.

Rock and Roll Hall of famer Tom Petty opened up to writer (and fellow musician) Warren Zanes for Tom Petty: The Biography (Henry Holt and Company), a rollicking, reminiscent ride down memory lane with the singer-songwriter of “Free Fallin’,” “I Won’t Back Down,” “Runnin’ Down a Dream” and other classic rock tunes.

If you were a Star Wars fan in the late 1970s, you probably remember the line of Topps trading cards, originally released in 1977 just after the first movie and expanded into four more series later. Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo and Rachel McAdams star in Spotlight, the true story of how the Boston Globe newspaper uncovered the massive scandal of child abuse and cover-up in a local Catholic Diocese and shook the Catholic Church to its core.

An all-star cast (Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, Chiwetel Ejiofor) headlines Secret in Their Eyes, about a tight-knit team of investigators torn apart when one of their teenage daughters is brutally murdered—and years later, a secret from the past blurs the line between justice and revenge.
